General Manager
THE IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE
The General Manager (GM) will be accountable for developing and executing the business plan and strategies that enable long-term profitable growth within an assigned geography while also managing the resources and expenses necessary to achieve a profitable outcome by successfully implementing the Company ‘Purpose to Promise’. The GM will collaborate with internal business partners to enable product, pricing, technology, services, and human capital to enable this outcome.
What You’ll Bring
- Drives operational excellence accountability within the region by ensuring standards are met and the team has the tools to make decisions to drive their business and meet goals
- Ensures all inventories and fixed assets are maintained and controlled
- Builds and maintains a high-performance team by evaluating and coaching team member performance, supporting appropriate training and development methods, and team building
- Identifies and develops bench strength to ensure succession planning objectives are met
- Provides a motivational environment in which team members exceed performance standards
- Ensures coordinated leadership and consistency between branches within the market
- Develops and maintains annual budget for the assigned market
- Monitors financial reports of the market to ensure budgetary compliance with Regional and Corporate goals
- Updates President with area results during financial review meetings including counter measures to address deficient branches
- Develops and manages the growth and the long-term profitability of Vendor and Customer relationships
- Achieves EBITDA and ROI key financial metrics in their assigned area
- Monitors and actively manages the market area as it relates to financial performance, including but not limited to growth, retention, pipeline management, account management, and profitability for Branches and assigned customers
- Monitors pricing trends against loss trends and plan targets, and work with appropriate partners to develop strategies to achieve pricing targets
- Drives accountability to achieve goals with Branch Managers and other regional leadership
- Participates in the company’s annual operating and long-term strategic planning process. Collaborates with the President to evaluate results; establish a future vision; and develop strategic plans, actions and success metrics
- Provides strategic direction and leadership to the area. Tracks progress on established success metrics
- Maintains up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect market area growth
- Establishes a team culture among the market and holds the team to Reece’s standard of customer satisfaction
- Ensures all customer service complaints are handled effectively and efficiently
- Develops sales strategies for the area in close cooperation with the President and assists Regional Sales Manager in executing the sales strategy to meet growth objectives and sales goals
- Recommends territory configuration as appropriate using prudent business judgement, while maximizing available resources
- Fosters a positive working environment aligned with Reece’s vision and core values
- Holds regular staff meetings with direct reports and participates in area team meetings
- Effectively works in a collaborative manner with different work groups throughout Reece including, but not limited to Finance, People Experience, Marketing, Legal, and IT
YOUR BACKGROUND
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience
- A proven record of leadership (e.g., progression through positions of increasing responsibility) is beneficial
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with people
