Job Description

We are seeking a qualified HVAC Technician to join our Engineering team. This role is responsible for the efficient maintenance, repair, and operation of all heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and mechanical systems within the property. The ideal candidate ensures guest comfort, equipment reliability, and compliance with safety and environmental standards through proactive service and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Systems Operation & Maintenance

Inspect, maintain, and repair:

HVAC systems (VRV, split units, package units)

Fan coil units (FCUs), air handling units, fresh air & exhaust fans

Walk-in chillers, freezers, under-counter fridges, and all refrigeration systems

Water pumps, motors, fire pumps, valves

Boilers, chillers, heaters, and air blowers

Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns.

Troubleshoot and repair faults to ensure system performance and minimize downtime.

Calibrate controls and adjust systems for optimal energy efficiency.

Technical Operations & Documentation

Read and interpret mechanical diagrams, technical manuals, and blueprints.

Maintain accurate logs of daily maintenance activities and equipment performance.

Monitor and document operating parameters to detect irregularities.

Assist in managing mechanical spare parts inventory and tool control.

Health & Safety Compliance

Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and use proper PPE at all times.

Report hazardous conditions or equipment faults immediately.

Support inspections of fire safety systems (sprinklers, fire pumps, alarms).

Participate in emergency response procedures when needed.

Environmental Responsibility

Operate and maintain systems with a focus on energy efficiency.

Handle refrigerants, lubricants, and waste materials in accordance with environmental regulations.

Assist in energy audits and sustainability initiatives.

Ensure proper disposal of mechanical waste to minimize environmental impact.

Guest Service & Team Collaboration

Respond swiftly and professionally to guest complaints related to HVAC systems.

Maintain open and effective communication with team members and other departments.

Provide support and guidance to junior technicians when needed.

Maintain a high standard of grooming and professional conduct at all times.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

High school diploma required.

Technical diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or related field is preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in mechanical or HVAC maintenance, preferably in hotels or commercial properties.

Familiarity with pumps, valves, chillers, and other HVAC-related equipment.

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.

Ability to read mechanical blueprints, diagrams, and equipment manuals.

Basic computer skills for logging and reporting.

Awareness of safety regulations and emergency procedures.

Good verbal and written communication in English (additional languages are a plus).

Physically fit and able to perform physically demanding tasks.

Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Information

Understanding of Ultra-Luxury guest expectations and brand alignment.
experience in project coordination, scheduling, and document control during pre-Opening stages.
Experience in pre-Opening is a must.
