Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician at BGSN Mechanical Construction. The technician will install, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including package units, split systems, chillers, and related components at assigned project site. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing system issues, performing preventive maintenance, checking electrical connections, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. The role involves interpreting blueprints and technical documents, coordinating with project managers and field teams, and documenting all work performed in service and maintenance records. The technician will also support remote troubleshooting, provide recommendations for system improvements, and follow all relevant safety standards and company procedures.

Qualifications

Strong HVAC troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
Hands-on experience with plumbing related to HVAC systems, such as condensate lines, piping, and drainage.
Ability to perform preventive maintenance on heating and cooling systems, including inspections, cleaning, and component replacement.
Knowledge of electricity and electrical systems as they relate to HVAC equipment, including wiring, circuits, and safety practices.
Current EPA certification (or ability to obtain) for handling refrigerants and compliance with environmental regulations.
Familiarity with commercial and industrial HVAC systems, tools, and test instruments.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with remote teams, contractors, and clients.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training or apprenticeship in HVAC is preferred.
